Denise Bayron Kremmer teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) to adult learners in the Division of Continuing Studies. She taught Business English and Conversation classes for a Fair Trade organization in Thailand. She has also taught English in Bali, Indonesia, and at a private school in the U.S.
Marni Bekkedal (PhD, Bowling Green) is a neuroscientist with expertise in brain chemistry and the processing of emotions. Her teaching emphasizes the importance of the brain in emotions and controlling our behaviors, making complex neuroscience understandable and applicable to daily life.

Antonio Benitez-Noguera (PhD in Spanish, UW-Madison) is from Madrid, where he managed his own company for many years. He has taught language and culture courses at UW-Madison, Edgewood College, and Minnesota State University.
Janelle Bentley (BFA, UW-Madison) is an active performer, teacher, and choreographer who has performed nationally and internationally. She recently returned from Israel, where she apprenticed with the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company.

Suzanna Waters Castillo (PhD, UW-Madison), is a faculty associate at the Division of Continuing Studies where she is the director of the Aging & Long-Term Care specialty.
Arsenio Cicero (PhD, UW-Madison) is a native of Havana and an experienced Spanish instructor who has taught extensively in Wisconsin. He is interested in combining language and culture in the classes he teaches.
Kenneth Cloke is Director of the Center for Dispute Resolution and a mediator, arbitrator, attorney, coach, consultant, and trainer. He is a nationally recognized speaker and author of numerous books.
Harold Coltharp worked for Wisconsin state government for over 38 years, the last 21 with the State Records Center of the Department of Administration. He is a Wisconsin Certified Public Manager, was the Executive Secretary for the State Public Records Board, and a past president of the Madison chapter of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators.

Robert L. Curry (MFAs in acting and fiction) has been a professional actor for 30 years. He is head of Playwrights Ink, a Madison playwrights' development group, and teaches at Write-by-the-Lake, School of the Arts at Rhinelander, and Madison College.

Maggie Delaney-Potthoff performs throughout the United States and Europe with the highly acclaimed band Harmonious Wail. One of Madison's finest jazz vocalists, she is also a private vocal coach and a recording artist.

NANCY DUNN KURR
Nancy Dunn Kurr (BA, UW-Madison) is principal violist in the Edgewood Chamber Symphony and an active chamber musician in the Madison area. She has been teaching string students of all ages for more than 20 years.
Steve Kurr (MM, UW-Madison) has taught continuing education music courses for more than a decade. He is conductor of the Middleton Community Orchestra and teaches orchestra and music history at Middleton High School.
Bob Lavigna (MS, Cornell) is assistant vice chancellor and director of human resources for the UW-Madison. He previously was administrator of merit recruitment and selection for the state of Wisconsin and began his career in the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
William Layher (PhD, Harvard University) is a specialist on the literature and culture of medieval Germany and Scandinavia. His research focuses on aspects of play and transgression, cross-cultural mediation, and courtly representation during the high middle ages.

Mary Schil (PhD, UW-Madison) was a Fulbright graduate student at the Universidade de São Paulo. She lived in Brazil for 13 years and has extensive experience teaching all levels of Portuguese language, culture, and literature.
Gary Schoener is a clinical psychologist and nationally known speaker and consultant. After 37 years as executive director of the Walk-in Counseling Center of Minneapolis, he is now the center's director of consultation and training.
Jane Schulenburg (PhD, UW-Madison) is professor of history in Continuing Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, and Medieval Studies at UW-Madison.
MATTHEW D. SELEKMAN
Matthew D. Selekman (MSW, LCSW) is a family therapist, addictions counselor, and codirector of Partners for Collaborative Solutions, a family therapy training and consulting firm. He specializes in treating self-injury and other difficult issues and leads workshops around the world.
EUGENIA SHERMAN BROWN
Eugenia Sherman Brown (PhD) serves as adjunct professor of history for Trinity and Fuller Seminaries. A Fulbright scholar, she lectured in history for many years at Carroll College and Edgewood College. She has taught for Continuing Studies since 1994.
Jenny Siklos (MEd, Univ. of Missouri-Columbia) teaches at Madison English as a Second Language School and is a test examiner at the UW-Madison. She has written two ESL books for Collins Language as well as children's books.
Flint Sparks has more than 30 years' experience in the practice and teaching of psychotherapy with graduate degrees in both biology and psychology. He has extensive postdoctoral training in mindfulness-based psychotherapies and group therapy, with specialty training in several models.
Jan Starczewski (MA) was born in France, raised in England, and is currently a PhD student in French at UW-Madison. His area of research is 18th-century French history and literature.
Rose Stephenson (MA, Middlebury College) lived for many years in Germany. She has taught Continuing Studies courses in German for more than 20 years.
Jesse Stommel (PhD, UC-Boulder) is an assistant professor at Continuing Studies, teaching courses in film, literature, and digital media. BECKY TARVER CHASE
Becky Tarver Chase (MA, UW-Madison) directs the English language program in Continuing Studies and has taught English to adults in the U.S., Thailand, and Mexico. She has also authored several textbooks for National Geographic Learning.
Vivian Tomlinson trained at the University of Cape Town Ballet School, South Africa, before he became a principal dancer with Wisconsin Ballet Company.
Robert Toomey (EdD, Edgewood College) is an outreach specialist in the Division of Continuing Studies at UW-Madison. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Training Council, and previously served as training officer for several State of Wisconsin agencies.
Suzanne Torres (BA, Monmouth University) studied sculpture in San Francisco, Florence, Italy and Barcelona, Spain. An MFA candidate at UW-Madison, Torres has also been an Open Studio Resident at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and a Fellow at Vermont Studio Center.

Sharon M. Van Sluijs (MFA, Univ. of Iowa) has taught grammar, writing, and literature since 1990. She has worked at UW Press, UW-Madison, Washburn University, and SUNY and has written and edited for a wide range of clients through her manuscript consulting business.
Guy Vanrensselaer (BS, UW-Madison) is the Process Improvement Specialist for the City of Madison. He has been an instructor for the University of Wisconsin's Certified Public Manager program for over 20 years. He also provides consulting services to public and not-for-profit organizations statewide.
Wendy Vardaman is the author of

Manuel Vellón has more than 40 years of experience as a professional percussionist and teacher. He's played locally and internationally with various groups and singers and is cofounder of Madison's Grupo Candela.
Art Walaszek (MD) is a board certified psychiatrist and associate professor of Psychiatry at the UW-Madison School of Medicine. He has extensive clinical experience in geriatric psychiatry and was named on the 2010 list of "Top Docs" in the Madison area.
David Wargowski , attending physician in the Genetics Clinic at UW-Madison Waisman Center and medical director of the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Clinic, focuses on evaluating children and adults with birth defects and genetic disorders.
Joni Wildman (BA, BFA, Florida State University) is a painter and a poet. She holds bachelor's degrees in creative writing and studio art. Currently an MFA candidate at UW-Madison, her paintings depict fantastical spaces inhabited by figures from pop-culture and folklore.

Rebecca Williams Spindler (BA, communication arts, UW-Madison) has written a 3-book, award-winning YA series with her teen daughter for Little Creek Books. She has taught writing classes for Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum, UW-Madison Literary Fest, and the South East Wisconsin Book Festival, and is currently vice president of Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum.
Georgiana Wilton (PhD) is the principal investigator for several research and outreach projects in UW-Madison's Department of Family Medicine, addressing the prevention, identification, and treatment of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. She has worked in the disabilities field for 25 years.
Janet Wood (MA, UW-Madison) is an experienced instructor of Italian for adults and a lifelong Italophile who has lived, studied, and traveled throughout Italy.
Zack Zdrale (MFA Academy of Art Univ.) is an honors graduate in figurative painting. He has taught life drawing and figure painting courses at Academy of Art University and UW-Madison and continues to teach online.
